Description

POSITION PURPOSE:
 
Provides  critical  support for   investigating,   analyzing,   maintaining   and  designing   solutions  for the group's    application  systems.  Encourages   high  levels  of communication   and coaching techniques   to promote  continuation  of service  to all users whilst maintaining   compliance  with the required  policies and procedures.
 
Responsible  for  performing   all  duties  and functions    with  due  care,  attention,   confidentiality, and integrity,  consistent   with  the  group's   policies    and  procedures, health   and  safety   standards and business continuity  responsibilities  while  delivering 'Best-In-Class' customer  service  at all times
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Utilize   detailed    analysis   and   design    methodologies     to   convert    specifications     of   business requirements  and system  enhancements   into  a detailed  implementation   work  plan  so as to  ensure maximum  systems  availability.
• Review  all  work  and  create  documentation    prior  to  implementation    to  verify  consistency    and conformance  with established  ICT guidelines
• Establish good communication  practices  with all stakeholders   when troubleshooting,    investigating, analyzing  and defining requirements,   information flows,  processes  and procedures.
• Troubleshoot  and fix daily production   issues that  affect  the group's  applications.
• Provide on call support  for critical productions   issues  as assigned  and arranged  with management.
• Construct,  interpret  and execute test  plans in a thorough  and reliable  manner.
• Formulate  and/or  modify  complex  queries  for reporting   and  information   analysis  across  multiple database platforms  whilst  ensuring  that  data integrity  is maintained  at all times.
• Interact with vendors to gain technical expertise and effective resolution of applicable software issues within a timely manner.
• Plan and coordinate work schedules and priorities with supervisor to ensure completion of project deliverables within agreed timelines and quality.
• Present technical problems, processes and solutions verbally and in written formats in an accurate and timely manner.
• Maintain working knowledge of required standards, methods and tools for analysis and program development and documentation.
• Assist with coaching and mentoring of Programmer Analysts II and new staff.

SUPERVISORY ROLE:

1. Team Leadership- Provide assistance to Programmer Analyst II with respect to investigating, troubleshooting and analyzing of projects/ issues and provide a holistic overview of the assignments.
2. Lead Worker- Provides guidance and direction to internal and external customers

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum:

• Associate degree in Information  Systems/ Computer Science/ Software Engineering from an accredited institution with three  (3) years relevant experience such as in Applications   Development.

 
Preferred:

• Bachelor's     Degree in   Information Systems/ Computer Science/ Software Engineering     from    an accredited  institution  with one (1) year's  relevant  experience  such as in Applications  Development.

 

EXPERIENCE:

• Strong knowledge  of SQL and Java programming
• Strong proficiency  in API Development   and Web  Services

 

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:

• Certification in Unix, Linux, Java, Microsoft SQL Server/Informix   SQL, Reactive  Web  Design, Azure Developer Associate; Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals; Power Platform Developer Associate will be required- at least one (1).

REQUIRED TECHNICAL  COMPETENCIES:

• Broad understanding   of information systems  concepts  and practices.
• Knowledge  of core banking technologies   - PROFILE  (Integrated  Banking  System  (IBS)), u/Switchware  and T24 will be an asset.
• Proficiency  in the development  of computer  databases,   local applications/systems,    web applications.
• Ability to use initiative  and work  independently.
• Completion  of a Supervisory  skills workshop
• Analytical  and problem-solving   skills with  demonstrated   capabilities in project  management.
• Ability to read, analyze  and use complex  documents  and forms,
• Ability  to  communicate   effectively   with  customers   (both  internally   and  externally)   with  a high level of professionalism.
